Can You Sell Forever Stamps?

    selling forever stamps

Yes, you can sell Forever stamps. You don’t need a special license or permit, unless you are operating commercially. Just as with any other piece of personal property, you have the right to sell or trade it in ordinance with the Federal law.

How Much Can You Sell Them For?

Unless you are a commercial business such as a grocery store or private mail service, you will typically need to sell your stamps at a percentage of “face value”. Some postage buying services like Sell Forever Stamps will pay you 50% face value for your postage.

For example, the face value of a Forever stamp in 2024 is $0.68. You could sell them for $0.34 each. A book of 20 stamps would sell for $6.80 each, while a roll of 100 stamps would sell for $34 each.

    Condition Matters

You’ll get more for your stamps if they are in brand new condition. They must be free of bends, folds, or other imperfections. If you have partial books or rolls, or your books are folded, you can still sell them, but plan to get closer to 50% face value.

    How It Works

The process is pretty straightforward. You download and fill out a Packing Slip to include with your stamps. Ship them securely to the stamp buying company. Within a couple weeks, they will email you with an offer to purchase your stamps. You can either accept or decline their offer. Should you decline the offer, they will ship back your stamps.

Other Places That Sell Forever Stamps

If you’ve ever purchased stamps from a place other than the United States Post Office, you’ve bought them from a reseller. Retailers like Wal-Mart, Costco or your local grocery store and gas station can all resell postage stamps. They typically mark up the price that you would pay at the Post Office in order to make a profit.
